Raised Bed Photos Of Everyday Landscape Gardens
A Raised Bed is a nice addition to a landscape
garden. There are so many different materials
to choose from when installing this landscape
feature. Many people use decorative bricks,
stackable field stone, as well as block pavers
to build a one to three foot border around
their garden. The pictures represent everyday
people coming up with simple solutions to
low lying areas, a slope, or planting around trees.
The first photo shows you a kidney shaped bed in a front yard.
Simple, but also has established trees along with some evergreen
shrubs. The no mortar wall or decorative pavers gives this bed a
a wonderful finished look. Another option for this style bed is
to add some annual or perennial flowers throughout the bed. Established
trees, evergreen shrubs for year around enjoyment, and possibly colorful
flowers will give you a great look for an everyday landscape.
Raised garden bed - a decorative outdoor feature for a small space or problem area
shows you four different styles of small raised
gardens. The four beds in the page are great for vegetables,
herbs, and flowers.
A round bed is great for a front or backyard.
This particular bed is in the front yard. The bed
was made along the front sidewalk. This provides
a great view from the house as well as curb side appeal.
One established tree is surrounded by some evergreen
shrubs and bordered with Hostas. Once again this owner
decided to do no mortar stackable wall. The decorative
pavers add so much to the entire bed.
Sturdy railroad ties border this bed in a front yard near the road. The owner didn't want anything fancy, but also
wanted protection of the street. Railroad ties are very durable. There is a combination of evergreen shrubs and
perennial flowers in this bed. The owner was in the process of adding more dwarf shrubs to the bed. A great landscape
solution near a residential street.
I like this beds location in the property of this owners house. The defined bed is situated away from the road, but also
one is able to see the bed from the street. This bed makes a great look for the fenced area behind. The bed itself has an informal
English look with the bird bath, established tree, shrubs and Hostas surround the entire bed. Great look for a raised bed.
This bed is in a front yard and is the focal point. Full of different shrubs, both deciduous and evergreen, the owner
has this bed planted so there is color year around. The ornamental grass softens the look with the sway of the flumes in the
summer months. The brick border adds to the bed, along with the evergreen shrubs right outside this defined bed.
The last three photos are of the same garden. I wanted
to show you the full picture and one of the right side
and one of the left side. Notice the little decorative
tiered style look on the left side photo. This is a nice added touched
to a raised space. Each of these landscape areas have their
own personality with shrubs, flowers and different
ornaments.
I love the colors the owners chose for this distinct bed. They blended in the shrubs with
their house color. This is a great way of decorating your outside. In this bed there
is a combination of different deciduous and evergreen shrubs with a very well balanced
look to the landscape. I love also how the bed goes with the contour of the front yard. This
is very important to get your landscape balanced with your land. An important aspect of the
planning and prepping stage.
The last photo shows you the entire bed from the street. The overall view makes this
bed inviting from the curb side as well as to the owners. The brick border blends in
with the house. A dynamite bed and a great investment. As you can see from this
photo, the entire front yard goes through a smooth transition from the roadside up
to the front of the house.
I hope these photos of raised gardens
have given you some new ideas or maybe helped you
in deciding what to do with that small area. Raised
garden no matter what size and shape, can
add a nice inexpensive touch to your landscape.
