Bloom Times For Some Perennial Flowers
Bloom times of perennial flowers in a garden will vary from warmer climates to colder climates. I will use zone seven as a base for this article. Flowers will blossom usually two to four weeks earlier south of zone seven, and anywhere from two to six weeks later north of zone seven. So many people focus in on flowers blossoming in the warmth of the summer months. The key to planting perennials and some annual flowers, for the entire growing season is if you
plan
ahead. To some, this may sound like a very complicated process to coordinate flowers blossoming throughout the growing season. In reality, just learning about a few of your favorite flowers and when they blossom, will give you the opportunity to produce a magnificent display of colors from early spring until frost. This concept is one I offer to my clients when doing a design. Obviously flowers come from bulbs, seeds, and existing plugs or plants. The decision is yours how to you want incorporate any of these into your garden or landscape. Annual and perennial bulbs provide you with additional color from the first sign of
spring,
until that colder air arrives in the
fall.
