Front Yard Landscape Photos
Sometimes front yard photos can give you ideas for your own
landscape. This is a very important area to have
some colorful trees, shrubs, and flowers. When
someone drives by your home one of the first things they will notice is your landscaping and
lawn.
The houses below represent their
own unique style and personality. Much of the
landscape has been in for at least five or more years.
The first two houses are in the same
subdivision. They are similar in the styles
of landscape, but different shrubs in
each front yard. The first house has a fountain
on the right hand side to add some character
around the foundation. Notice in the
second house how an entrance was created with
a Crepe Myrtle on each side. This is a great curb
side appeal. The builder and owner opted to
put a straight side walk from the street up to
the front of the house.
This is a great setting
to do two small trees or tall shrubs on either
side of the walkway. Both of these houses
have low growing shrubs along the foundation.
The next two photos are of the same house. I like
this style not only are there shrubs planted
along the foundation, look at the vibrant Crepe
Myrtle positioned in the front between two
windows. The tree is far enough away from the foundation,
and the owners keep it pruned. Feburary is the best time
to prune Crepe Myrtles. There are multi garden beds throughout
the front yard. Each bed is unique and adds a
variety of color and texture with the shrubs
and flowers. Notice the tree bordered
by some decorative flat stones.
This house has a defined bed in the yard. The big rock is the
focal point with attractive flowers in front of
the rock. The shrubs are neatly pruned. This bed
gives the property a formal look. The owners wanted
a definite neat and tidy look and they keep the shrubs
pruned throughout the year.
These next two pictures are also of the same house.
The entire property is very well groomed. The front
of the house is tailored with well defined shrubs
and also strategically placed statues and topiary
bushes. The first picture is the left hand
side. Notice the tree in the the yard area
with ground cover around it.
The right side shows the eloquent entrance way to the front steps.
Pruned shrubs line along the foundation and create the look of the
English style garden. In the
garden project section,
there is a page on a formal garden and
and informal garden that may give you some
ideas.
The next two photos are still the same house that is above. The owners continued
the theme throughout the entire yard.
I wanted to show you a formal garden bed on
the left hand side of the yard. The shrubs
are trimmed in a hedge form. Inside each bed
are two decorative topiary bushes along with
a elegant black bird bath.
The right hand side bed is a woodsy style of a small English garden.
The planter along with the iron bench creates an
atmosphere of an older time.
The barkless
trees are tree form Crepe Myrtles. The woman
of the house did most of the planning and work
on these beautiful gardens.
The two photos here show a couple of different
angles of the foundation area from one house.
Colorful flowers accent the evergreen shrubs.
I like the window box on the porch. There
are also two decorative planters placed on
either side of the base of the porch steps.
The second picture is of a bed near the
walkway. Different evergreen shrubs,
Elephant Ears, and colorful flowers make
up this colorful bed. Start with some colorful
photos of perennial flowers for any style front garden.
There are also pictures of trees,
shrubs, herbs, annual flowers, and other
garden ideas. Any of these trees, shrubs, or flowers
can be used to create a wonderful view
from the street and out your windows.
The final two photos are of the same house above but
two different areas along near the driveway. The first
one is a full size bed with a variety of different plant
species. The trees are engulfed by full size shrubbery
and delicious tones of flowers. The bed is made
complete with a border of variegated Liriope.
The second picture is across from this bed on
the other side of the driveway. This little garden
is more sprawled out and has a very natural look.
It gives the yard a open feel compared to the
other full beds. Many different style beds are incorporated into
a front yard setting. Take a look at this colored
theme garden idea for along a foundation.
Green And White Plants Along the Foundation Create A Soft Look For Your Home.
This is just one option for
you to think about.
I hope this has helped you
a little in seeing a few different gardens in the
yard as well as trees, shrubs and flowers planted
along the foundation.
