Accent flower gardens look great in any landscape area. There is nothing like walking into someone's yard and seeing beautiful landscaped gardens. To go beyond that, isn't it striking to see one or two just flower gardens?

Your eyes become fixed on the vibrant colors of each individual or mass planting of different flowers.

Creating your own flower beds can be simple and fun. Planning ahead on what type of plant specimens you want and what will do well in your area is very important.

Many people like to intertwine annuals and perennials throughout all their beds. Think about doing a single flower garden in a dead spot in your yard.

I have talked about many different size and shape gardens in several different articles and features on this Web site. This is just another way you can create your personality on the outside of your property. One idea is to consider doing a small garden of just cut flowers.

The first two pictures are a couple types of Sedum. Sedum creates great fall color for accent flower gardens, and does well in zones three through nine. It can take full sun or part shade. Their cluster of tiny flowers in different color tones makes a great autumn garden.














The second set of pictures shows you a late blooming small Lantana plant, and also a full grown fern. If you have your flower garden or gardens in a shaded area, ferns can create a great accent to the flower garden.
