blue star creeper

by Mike
(Illinois)

I have a question about the ground cover called Blue Star Creeper. I've read that it might be poisonous. Is it? I have a grandson and he will get into things, and I don't want to plant it if it might become a problem. Thanks.

Blue Star Creeper Being Poisonous?
by: Kimberly

Hi Mike, Kimberly here from landscape solutions for you. Thank you for asking the question on the Blue Star Creepr. This is a beautiful plant specimen. The Blue Star Creeper can be poisonous in the sense of skin irritation. I have planted this specimen in clients gardens but do recommend them to be careful when planting.

I understand the concern with your grandson. If the plant can be planted in an area where he will not be around, go ahead and plant it. If you have sensitive skin, wear gloves when planting.

Many plants can be harmful if planted in large quantities. I hope this answers your question. Thanks again and feel free to ask anytime here at landscape solutions for you. Hope your day is going great! With a grandson, how could it not be?
