boxwoods

A lady on craigs list is giving away 30 Boxwoods to anyone that will remove them. She doesn't want her yard to be torn up though. I am trying to learn all that I can about them...to see if it's worth the work! Any tips, or should I leave them where they are and let her deal with them?

Boxwoods

Hi, Kimberly here from landscape solutions for you. Thank you for asking the question on getting the Boxwoods.

A couple things you need to ask her. How old are the Boxwoods, and long have they been in the ground?

Boxwoods if they have been in the ground for more then three years, developed roots that are hard to transfer. The key to whether or not you want to take them, is the age and how long they have been in the ground?

Boxwoods will become leggy when older. Another aspects of transplanting Boxwoods that are established, my crew and I had to pull them out from various clients with a chain and using my truck. If you want to save the Boxwoods and they aren't too old, you have to be careful to keep as much of the root ball in tack. This includes the tap or mother root. Let us know what you decide. Make sure you get all the facts from her before moving forward.

Thanks again for asking the question here at landscape solutions for you. Good luck with the decision to transplant the Boxwoods.
