Cleveland Pear Tree

Hi, Kimberly here from landscape solutions for you. Thank you for asking the question on your Cleveland Pear Tree.

Sometimes trees will go through different growing spurts. With your Cleveland Pear tree blooming this year, I wouldn't be too concerned over the smaller leaves. My recommendation is to double check the tree by taking a small sharp knife and scratching the surface of a branch. If it is green inside, the tree is healthy. If if is brown, it may be in some kind of shock. With the blooms this year, I don't think it is, but double check.

You might also want to consider loosening the dirt around the tree and add some organic mushroom compost to the soil. Water, and this could help with the potential lack of nutrients in your soil, if you have any.

I am not sure what location you are in, but many places in the Northern Hemisphere had a very cold winter, which will attribute to smaller growth in leaves or less blooms throughout the year. I hope this has helped you.

Thanks again for asking the question here at landscape solutions for you. Feel free to ask anytime and let us know how your Cleveland Pear is doing. Have a great weekend.
Kimberly
