driveway trees

I have a driveway of about 90' I want to plant trees along one side. I was thinking either Poplar or Cleveland Pear. Any suggestions? I live in DE.

Trees By Driveway

Hi, Kimberly here from landscape solutions for you. Thank you for asking the question on planting trees on one side of your driveway.

There are a few trees that come to mind. One thought for you is to decide if you want all deciduous or all evergreen. You can do a combination of both down one side. The main goal is to make sure you plant them far enough apart so they will mature properly. You also have the option to plant in a straight row or stagger the trees. Here are a few ideas for you.

1. Yoshino Cherry - great deciduous tree with beautiful spring blossoms.

2. Dogwood - massive blossoms in springtime - deciduous.

3. Lilac - deciduous tree that also has massive blooms in the mid to late spring.

4. Cryptomeria - great evergtreen upright that will give you height.

5. Emerald Green Arborvitae - another wonderful evergreen upright.

6. Crepe Myrtle - delightful summertime blooming tree - deciduous but a showcase during bloom time.

The Cleveland Pear you mentioned will also work great.

I hope this little list helps and let us know what you decide. Remember to properly prep the area and adding organic mushroom compost to each hole is a real bonus for each tree.

Thank you again for asking the question here at landscape solutions for you. Feel free to ask anytime. Have a great day.
Kimberly
