evergreen screen to block tall cable boxes

We have 4 large (5-6ft) tall cable boxes close to our driveway. I need a mass of attractive carefree bushes for a screen. The utility co. will plant them. They aren't going to go with large trees or anything too fancy.The soil is clay and sand with good drainage and full sun. Raleigh,N.C.- hardiness zone 8 -Thanks!

Plants Around Cable Boxes

Hi, Kimberly here from landscape solutions for you. Thank you for asking the question on plants to put around the cable boxes.

There are some specimens that come to mind.

1. Loropetalum - evergreen larger variety, not the Chinese Pizazz. Red to pink tone flowers in the spring and summer.

2. Viburnum - evergreen with tiny white or pink flowers in spring and throughout the summer.

3. Variegated Ligustrum - evergreen with yellow and green tone leaves.

4. Cleyera - evergreen with shiny leaves that will change in the fall to some red tones in them.

5. Lemon Thread Cypress - soft needle like leaves that are yellow and green tones. Evergreen.

6. Rheingold Arborvitae - stunning evergreen with yellow and green tones.

7. Certain Yew varieties - all are evergreen

8. Consider a Tea Olive or Osmanthus small tree. Evergreen with fragrant flowers that will bloom throughout the year.
