Grouping Varigated Euonymus with Cheyera

I was wondering what you think it would look like if I put a Cleyera in back of an area I'm creating on the left and right front of my yard. I'd put the Euonymus (3)some way in front of the Cleyera. If not the Euonymus, can you tell me any other evergreen plants you'd recommend? I'm going to shape the flower beds into an interesting shape and then fill them with the plants. Thank you very much!

Grouping With Cleyera
by: Kimberly

Hi Kimberly here from landscape solutions for you. Thank you for asking the question on grouping Cleyera with Euonymus. The Euonymus is a great evergreen. You can get the Euonymus in a solid green or variegated green and yellow leaves. This is a good choice. I like the idea of the Euonymus with the Cleyera. You have a couple of options. Try and think of odd numbers when you create this area.

1. A couple of Cleyera as the back drop and possibly three Euonymus in front.

2. Cleyera - two in the back drop with two Euonymus in the front and a Ruby Chinese Pizazz or Loropetalum. The Ruby is smaller and has green and red- purple one leaves. Pink to red flowers emerge in the spring and summer months. The Ruby could go in the center between the Euonymus.

3. Other shrubs you could use -

1. Mop Cypress - variegated yellow and green leaves.
2. Blue Owl Juniper - teal tone
3. Indian Hawthorn - pink or white flowers
4. Globe Arborvitae - solid green
5. Rheingold Arborvitae

All these are evergreen. Do a combination of five, depending on your space. Also think about matching your other outdoor features with the colors of the leaves and flowers.

I do like the idea of the Cleyera as a back drop. There are different family members you can choose from.

I hope this helps and if you need more suggestions, let me know. Let us know what you decide. Thanks again for asking the question here at landscape solutions for you. Have a great day!
Kimberly
