Herb Saute Over Fresh Vegetables

I decided to share the first recipe of this page with all of you. Sometimes visitors don't want to be the first one to write so I thought I would show you a simple recipe I do quite often with many different vegetables.
Gather and chop...
fresh basil, oregano, garlic chives, two or three cloves of garlic, about two slices of onion, and either a red, yellow or banana pepper. The amount of each herb you use will depend on your taste buds and how many people you are serving.
Use a small Cast Iron skillet and melt unsalted butter with a little olive oil. Saute everything at the same time until they caramelize. Add the garlic chives last.
Steam or grill fresh squash, zucchini, green beans, egg plant, carrots, or corn.
Spoon the saute over the vegetables and this herb saute creates a wonderful aroma as well as taste.
Any of these saute vegetables go well with fish, chicken, beef or pork dishes.
Grow your own and you can't beat the taste! The wonderful thing about growing your own is you can have fresh herbs year around!
HAPPY COOKING!
