Re-Potting An Umbrella Plant
by: Kimberly

Hi, Kimberly here from landscape solutions for you. Thank you for asking the question on re-potting your Umbrella plant.

One of the first steps you will need to make sure of is you get a big enough pot. Purchase some light weight potting soil. I recommend the soil to have humus and vermiculite in the mixture. With an Umbrella plant you can also add some sand to the mixture. The Umbrella plant is a sub-tropical to tropical plant.

Put the potting soil in a separate container and add some water to it. I personally will use warm water, as the roots like this to transfer into.

Mix well and put some soil at the bottom of the container. Gently put your plant in the container and cover the rest of the base up. You will want to get on a good watering schedule, as plants that are in containers will dry out faster than ground plants.

With any plant that is going into a container, your goal with the roots is give them enough space to sprawl out. A good size container will work well for your Umbrella plant.

I hope this helps you, and best of luck with your transfering project. Thanks again for asking and feel free to ask a question here at landscape solutions anytime. Have a great rest of the day and evening.
Kimberly
