How far from my driveway should I plant my screen trees?

Hello! I would like to plant some privacy trees on one side of my propriety. I would like to plant emerald green arborvitae trees but I only have about 10" of dirt space from the end of my asphalt driveway and my neighbor newly installed fence. I would like to know if the roots of this type of tree (emerald green arborvitae) planted so close to my driveway could ultimately damage my driveway.

Thank you.

How Far From Driveway Should You Plant Screen Trees?
by: Kimberly

Hi, Kimberly here from landscape solutions for you. Thank you for asking the question on planting screen trees, especially the Emerald Green Arborvitae.

The Emerald Green should be planted five to seven feet away from the driveway, and spaced the same distance as well. You will be fine with the root systems if you plant the five to seven feet away.

Emerald Green Arborvitaes are fast growers and make a wonderful privacy area. Make sure you prep the soil properly and add some organic mushroom compost. This is an organic fertilizer that will last up to one year. The best to you.

Thanks again for asking the question and feel free to ask anytime. Have a great day.
Kimberly
