How To Grow Vegetables
by: Kimberly

Hi, Kimberly here from landscape solutions for you. Thank you for asking the questions on how to grow vegetables.

I am not sure where you are located, but there are some basic steps and tips to know before growing any type of vegetable.

1. Know what type of soil you are working with, sandy, loom, clay or rocky.

2. Decide on what vegetables you want to plant, know which vegetables need sun, partial sun, and shade.

3. Learn what the maturity of each vegetable is so you can space them properly.

4. Develop a plan for watering your vegetables.

Many vegetables are easy to grow, but the ground must be properly prepped before hand. Depending how big you want your vegetable garden to be, you can use a shovel and turn over the soil, or use a tiller. Rake and level the soil. I recommend using organic mushroom compost to the soil, as well as in the holes you dig for you vegetables.

Don't plant the vegetables too deep. If you have never grown a vegetable garden before, start out with some basic veggies. Tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, and maybe some beans. Beans should grow in lines with string and small posts along the line.

If you don't want to do a ground garden, consider a container garden. You can do cherry tomatoes, some pepper varieties. Also consider doing some basic herbs, like basil, parsley, oregano, chives, and maybe dill.

If you need specific information on certain vegetables or herbs and how to grow, go ahead and ask here. You can also check out the site map on this site, as it has several different pages on veggies and herbs.

Thanks again for asking the question and I hope this helps you get started. Just follow the steps above and you should be fine. Have a great day!
Kimberly
