Plan - Prep - Plant Your Way To Beautiful Gardens And Landscapes

I'm curious what you found out because:

I just purchased and planted (2) 15 Gal. (1) Bing and (1) Tartarian. The Bing is already shedding yellow leaves like mad.
I'll scratch the trunk tonight and look for green layer but new growth is immediately yellowing. I've been watering when its
remaining healthy leaves look parched. I can't believe it's over-watering for a tree right out of the nursery. This spot in the
ground has been less than productive and I probably should have chosen different location but I want a screen here.
Should I maybe move the sickly thing or wait for cooler temps?

New Planted Trees
by: Kimberly

Hi Bob, Kimberly here from landscape solutions for you. Thank you for asking the question on your newly planted 15 gallon trees.

It sounds like the soil may be part of the problem. What did you find out when you did the scratch test? Sometimes trees and shrubs will go into shock when first plant. This is a change in soil and enviromental conditions, especially coming from a nursery.

A couple of options you have are to transplant the trees at this point when the weather cools to a new location. You can also do a soil test as well as loosen the dirt and add some organic mushroom compost to the soil around the trunk. This is a great organic fertilizer that will last up to one year.

Make sure if you transplant the trees the ground is prepared properly. Let us know how you make out. Thanks again Bob and I moved your question to a new submission so you and others can find it easily. Best to you and have a great day.
Kimberly
