Indian Hawthorn shrub

I just transplanted my Indian Hawthorn that was not thriving in a shady location. It is now in a very sunny location and I would like to know how often should I water it in this 90+ degree weather?

Indian Hawthorn Shrub
by: Kimberly

Hi, Kimberly here from landscape solutions for you. Thank you for asking the question on your Indian Hawthorn plant.

For the first few weeks with temperatures that are warm, I would take a hose and let the water trickle around the base of the Indian Hawthorn. Your goal is to get the roots water so the Indian Hawthorn doesn't go into shock.

Once the roots get established again, you can water two to three times a week in the heat. Always water first thing in the morning or at dusk.

You also have the option now of adding some organic mushroom compost to your soil, since you just transplanted the shrub. The mushroom compost is an organic fertilizer that will last up to one year. The mushroom compost can help the Indian Hawthorn possibly avoid any shock period. I hope this helps and the best of luck to you with your Indian Hawthorn.

Thanks again for asking the question and feel free to ask anytime. Have a great day.
Kimberly
