Indoor Lavender Plants

by Mrs Mills
(Herts UK)

I bought an indoor Lavender plant last summer and as far as I recall I have followed their instructions re watering etc, but it has not produced any flowers. Is this normal?

Indoor Lavender Plants
by: Kimberly

Hi Mrs. Mills, Kimberly here from landscape solutions for you. Thank you for asking the question on your indoor Lavender plant. I have had Lavender plants indoor and out in gardens.

Indoors, the Lavender should have a sunny location. I recommend at least six hours of sun. You should have good ventilation also. If it is in an area where there isn't good ventilation, a small fan would help.

Water the Lavender good, and then let the Lavender dry out. Over watering can kill the Lavender. Make sure there is no excess water in the saucer.

You will want to periodically check for root bound. You can do this by lifting up the pot and seeing if there are any roots coming through. If there are, time to replant into a bigger pot.

Herbs don't really need food. Sometimes it may take a while for the Lavender to produce flowers. If it looks healthy, it should produce flowers in the future.

I hope this has helped some and thanks again for asking the question on your Lavender plant. Best of luck to you, and feel free to ask anytime.
Kimberly
