maybe trees in shock
by: Anonymous

Hi, this is the landscape solutions website responding! I wanted to touch base with you to let you know the tree could be in shock. It is common of trees sometimes to do this. Take your fingernail and scratch the bark of the tree. If it is green, it is still healthy. If it is brown, it could be shock. I might suggest back off watering yourself right now as it could be getting too much water in a self watering pot. In your area if they sell organic mushroom compost, this could help. Mix it in with the soil as this is an organic fertilizer that will last up to one year. You could also put a handful of a slow six month nitrogen release fertilizer around the base. This may give it a boost. Let us know how you make out and hope this has helped you some. Feel free to keep us updated on what you are doing to help your Japanese Maple along.
