Butterfly Bush

Today people are opting for a variety of different style gardens. If space is limited, a small garden, container garden, or a table top garden will work.
If you have a larger landscape area, a butterfly garden, or several gardens may work for you. In the garden project section, there are several different suggestions for these, and other outdoor
areas for you to consider. Make sure you always plan your entire landscape project before starting. The plan, prep, plant method page on this site will give you some simple tips on how to properly plan for your outside investment.

Jul 5, Some Ideas For Planting On A Slope

One of the biggest problems many of
you have is trying to figure out what to
do with your hillside, slope or bank. In
the southern United States where I live,
we have many slopes in our area. There
are some simple solutions that can correct erosion problems and you can plant some wonderful evergreen plants. The preparation of a slope is a little different, as sometimes it may be impossible to run a tiller up and
down a bank. There are a few other options. Putting Jute, a commercial landscape fabric is a great solution to help with erosion. Many evergreen shrubs will work on a bank or slope. Take a look at the slope planting with evergreens page and see if these suggestions will help you find a solution to your bank or hillside area.

Independence Day

To everyone that is celebrating the fourth of July. Landscape-solutions-for-you would like to wish you, your family, and friends a very safe and happy Independence Day! Many other countries celebrate their Independence Day at other times
of the year. One thing I like to do on this special day is reflect back to all those that made it possible for our freedom, as well as being able to see the natural beauty of our land that surrounds us. Scenes in nature
through photography is just a little taste of the beauty that lies within some areas of the United States.
If you haven't had a chance to see some of the photos, take five minutes or so and enjoy some of the breathtaking
views. HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY!

Jul 3, Barberry Is a Colorful Shrub For Spring, Summer, and Fall

Close Up Of Barberry

The Barberry is known throughout many different regions of the world. It is native to Japan, China, Asia, United States, Europe and other countries. It is considered a deciduous shrub but
displays a variety of color throughout the growing season. One of the Barberries highlights is its display of fall foliage. The drawback to this shrub is is sharp edges, so a good plant to
keep away from children's playing area. I like to incorporate this shrub as an accent surrounded by evergreen trees and
shrubs. Take a look at some of the Barberries features and check out some other species that would do well with this plant in the gallery of plants section and also the variety of more plants. The Crimson Pygmy is one of my favorite varieties of the Barberry.

Both the Caladium and Coleus provide wonderful color in a tropical garden setting. The vibrant colors
of these specimens creates a great accent with the Hibiscus, Ginger, Fatsia, Allamanda, and other warm
climate plants. Varieties of the Coleus will grow well in colder climates, down to zone three in the United States. Caladium is deciduous in some cooler climates. If you haven't had a chance, take a look at the Coleus and Caladium, and other species in the tropical
section. A great investment for you landscape or gardens.
