My Cherry Trees leaves are turning Yellow... HELP!

I need some tips on what I should do about to keep the tree from dying. It is in a clay/sandy area. It has grass clippings on and around the trunk. We put fertilizing stakes two feet away from our trees. This seems to be the only tree that is having problems. It is watered with a sprinkler that waters our garden. I watered the trees once a day for two weeks with hose dribbling. Please anything you can do to help me from losing this tree would be wonderful.
