Planting A Row of Cleveland Pears

by Phil Buckalew
(St. Louis)

We are planting 5 Cleveland Pears in a row up our driveway. We are planning to stagger them and are wondering how much space to have between each tree?

Space Between Row Of Cleveland Pears
by: Kimberly

Hi Phil, Kimberly here at landscape solutions for you. Thanks for asking the question on how far apart show you plant five Cleveland Pear trees. This is an excellent question and can tell you are planning out this project well.

Cleveland Pears maturity in width can go from 12 to 15 feet. I recommend even when staggering the trees to plant anywhere from 12 to 15 feet apart. Prepare your soil properly and add some organic mushroom compost to each hole. You can even add the mushroom compost into the soil while prepping. Make sure once the trees are planted for the first couple of weeks to water by setting a hose around each tree. The water should be at a trickle pace so the root system gets wet and can get established.

I hope this answers your question and best of luck to you with your Cleveland Pear trees. Feel free to ask a question here at landscape solutions anytime. Have a great day!
Kimberly
