Sticky Residue On Plant
by: Valerie

Hi Valerie, Kimberly here from landscape solutions for you. Thank you for asking the question about sticky residue on your plant.

It sounds like you have mealbugs that have infested your shrub. They will cause the sticky white color. You have already sprayed, and cut back. Make sure this plant is isolated from other plants. Mealbugs like to travel from shrub to shrub.

Take a solution of one part alcohol, one part water, and one part dish soap and apply to the plant. (even though you have pruned it back) Wait a couple of days and repeat the process.

Mealbugs are hard to get rid of, but doing this process or also purchase some neem oil and apply.

I hope this helps and I hope you are able to save your shrub. Thanks again for asking the question here at landscape solutions for you. Feel free to ask anytime and have a great day. Let us know how your shrub is doing.
Kimberly
