trying to relocate a plant.

We just moved into a new apt. Out side by the front door is a huge green plant that I love but want to relocate from the door. I have no idea what type it is so I am a little scared to move it. It has no buds, is solid green from root to tip, no lines or any markings, stands about 3-4 feet and is thin. I think it might be in the ever green family but not sure. if I could see some pics then i could point it out, but if you have any idea what it could be then please let me know.
