Landscaping Around Your Wishing Well
by: Kimberly

Hi Helen, Kimberly here from landscape solutions for you. Thank you for asking the question on landscaping around your live wishing well.

A couple of thoughts for you. If possible, use some of your colors from your paved sitting area in plants. Your sitting area will become an accent to your focal point, the wishing well. I am not sure how much space is available for you to plant. You can put evergreen shrubs staggered, or in an odd number around the wishing well, or a combination of a few deciduous shrubs along with some evergreens. Your area sounds really nice. If you need an opening to your wishing well, once again, staggered the plants around so you can see them, but also have a place to get to your well.

Another option is to have some evergreen plants along with a couple of decorative pots. The pots can act as an entrance way to your soft and romantic area. An evergreen shrub in the center of the pot, with perennials around it, and some ivy would be really pretty. Here are a few suggesions of shrubs. I would be happy to offer more suggestions if you need them.

1. Deciduous - Spirea

2. Evergreen - Loropetalums (Ruby Pizazz is a dwarf)

3. Soft evergreen Mop Cypresss or other Cypress -The Mop is a yellow and green variegated shrub.

4. Abeilia - can be evergreen or deciduous -
depending on your climate.

5. Lilac - deciduous - but romantic!

6. Soft evergreen Globe or Dwarf Arborivate or dwarf Hemlock -

7. Indian Hawthorn - evergreen - pink or white flowers in the spring.

8. Azalea - Camellia - Pieris Japonica

There are so many others shrubs to think about. Another option is to put some perennial flowers around the shrubs. This creates a full area. If you haven't check out the gallery of plants section, and variety of more plants. There may be some others in these sections you can use. Let us know the progress of this special area, and I would be happy to give you some more ideas, if you need them. Thanks again for asking your question, and feel free to ask anytime. Have a great day!
Kimberly
