Hi, Kimberly here from landscape solutions for you. Thank you for asking your question on a hill leading down to your house and patio. One of the things you have to look at is how steep the hill is. There are a couple of options you can do. One is to move the earth or excavate the hill by using equipment. This can get expensive, but can be done. This solution is if you want to level the hill out. If the hill isn't that steep you could use a tiller to level it out some. My crew and I have done this in previous jobsites. You can also think about doing a terrace on the hill by leveling out differnet sections leading down to your patio and home. This can be done by install small walls along the different levels or even steps. You coud also consider doing this and adding plants to either side of the steps. The small walls could be considered decorative as it leads to the patio. These are just a couple of different options.
